Welcome to Great Beginnings Child Care Center where we strive to nuture every child's potential and energy to grow toward becoming a happy and productive person.
Our Center hours are 7:30 am through 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We are closed on the six major holidays.
We are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and our nutritional program follows the guidelines of the USDA Child Care Food Program. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Great Beginnings is licensed to serve 63 children: 12 Infants (6 weeks to 16 months), 21 Toddlers (16 months to 3 years), 30 Preschoolers (3 years to the first day of Kindergarten). We maintain the following child to teacher ratios in our classrooms: Infants 4:1, Toddlers 7:1 and Preschoolers 10:1.
The majority of our teachers hold a four-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Our three Head Teachers have a combined total of 78 years experience in early childhood education - 58 of those years at Great Beginnings.
Our center began in 1980 as an arm of St Ansgar Hospital. In 1986, as St Ansgar was closing its doors, a group of parents formed a Non-Profit 501C3 Corporation in order to keep Great Beginnings operating as a child care center. We're still here 28 years later continuing to serve families and children from Fargo-Moorhead and the surrounding communities.
